Looking for the most comfortable pair of teacher shoes for a full day of teaching? I’ve got you! If you want to read all about my top picks, you can click here, but I do have an absolute favorite to share with you right now. These are the shoes I reach for when my feet are tired, my back hurts, and it’s the Friday before a vacation. Curious?
***************** ROTHY’S ******************
I find myself, time and again, reaching for ROTHY’S! I have the Loafer, the Flat, the Square, and the RS02 Sneaker. They are the most comfortable teacher shoes for me and I love that they are washable. I have washed my shoes (see Rothy’s website for instructions) and they look perfect coming out of the washing machine. Let’s just say I had an interesting day in 5th grade, and so did one of my students, which necessitated the washing of said shoes!!!
As far as sizing, I ordered my usual size in each of the styles I mentioned above. It is recommended on the website to size up in certain styles and I have had friends do just that. However, for whatever reason, I’ve been fine with my usual size. Since the shoes are made from recycled plastic, they don’t have the same stretch as other shoes, so keep that in mind when deciding to size up or not. Definitely read the reviews on the website before purchasing.
Rothy’s has added so many styles, that there’s sure to be something for everyone. They are pricey, but so far they’ve been worth it for me because I’ve gotten SO MUCH wear out of each pair. I have been teaching since 1998 and when I think back to some of the uncomfortable shoes I used to wear, I simply can’t believe it. I truly don’t know how I made it through the day (although it probably had something to do with the fact that I was in my 20s). Well, I’m now almost 50 and I refuse to spend the day in an uncomfortable pair of shoes or an uncomfortable ANYTHING! Regardless of where you are in your teaching journey or life journey, a comfy pair of shoes can make a day of teaching a little easier, and I love that!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy teaching!
